MCA Easter Egg Hunt A Real “Hoppening” Time!

April 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

On Saturday, March 22nd, the Manoa Civic Association hosted its first annual Bailey Park Easter Egg Hunt. With over 200 excited kids and about 2000 eggs scattered about by good ole Peter Cottontail, a good time seemed to be had by all. Even the sun decided to come out to warm things up! Congratulations again to the lucky finders of the 12 magical eggs!! Special thanks to our organizers and volunteers for putting together a great event. We were also honored to have Commissioners Steve D’Emilio, Mario Oliva and Jim McGarrity join in our celebration. If you didn’t happen to see Jimmy, it may have been because of his furry disguise!

Volunteers Needed

January 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

The Haverford Township Police Department is seeking volunteers to serve on the Youth Aid Panel, which is a program allowing first time juvenile offenders a second chance by hearing cases referred by the police department. Panels recommend resolutions that could include community service, attendance at classes, etc. Panelists are required to undergo nine hours of training after their acceptance into the program, following an application process that includes a criminal background check. Trained panelists can expect to spend three to four hours a month performing panel duties at the Haverford Township Police station.

Anyone interested in the program may contact Detective Alan Ross at (610) 853-1298 ext. 237, or at aross@haverfordpolice.org.
